2000 MARKETING SCIENCE CONFERENCEJune 22-25, 2000
THE CONFERENCE – The Anderson School at UCLA will host the conference on the UCLA campus in our new, state-of-the-art complex. We welcome the usual mix of papers in the various areas of marketing science, including marketing models, methods, theory and measurement. For updates on the conference, please check our website at www.anderson.ucla.edu/acad_unit/marketing/informs. For in-quiries about the conference, not paper submissions, e-mail Carolyn Cohen at carolyn.cohen@anderson.ucla.edu. You may also call 310-825-2504 or fax 310-206-7422. ABSTRACTS - Individuals from academia, industry and government are invited to submit abstracts. Abstracts should be 250-400 words long, including KEY WORDS to assist in assigning abstracts to sessions. The abstracts should clearly define the marketing problem and the contribution of the work. A book with abstracts will be provided. Abstracts must be received by February 1, 2000. We strongly encourage you to send the abstract via email. You will receive an automatic email acknowledgement. If you do not submit by email, a copy of the abstract on a 3.5" disk in Microsoft Word format and a hard copy are required. Each abstract must have the title of the presentation, name of the primary presenter, authors’ names, affiliations and addresses, including email, telephone and fax numbers. Each author may present only one paper during the entire conference. SPECIAL SESSIONS - We welcome proposals for special sessions at the Conference. We particularly encourage sessions with at least one industry participant, either making a presentation or serving as a discussant. Special sessions must include a proposed title, a session chair(s), abstracts for 4 papers and a statement summarizing the theme of the session. If we are unable to accommodate the session, we will consider each abstract as an individual submission. Proposals for special sessions have the same deadline. However, we will make early decisions on proposals submitted before February 1, 2000. SUBMISSIONS (Abstracts & Special Sessions) SEND TO - Professor Don Morrison, The Anderson School at UCLA, 110 Westwood Plaza, B515, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1481; fax: 310-206-7422; e-mail mktsci@anderson.ucla.edu. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Since its beginning, Los Angeles has lived on the cusp of a trend, always re-inventing itself – from Mexican outpost to agricultural Mecca to boomtown movie colony to high-tech aerospace hub to the new digital economy. As one of the world’s leading vacation destinations, Los Angeles first coined the word "tourist." Because most of us arrived here as strangers, LA makes up the richest ethnic mix in the country. Cultures from around the world rub elbows and join hands in fusions of language, fashion and food. Have you tried a Thai taco? We have them. This cultural celebration also means we have more stage theaters (80+) and museums (300) than any U.S. city. With metropolitan LA at more than twice the size of Switzerland, you can be sure there’s plenty to explore. ONLINE REGISTRATION Online Registration is available for this conference.
