We invite you to meet with old friends and new at the Welcome Reception. All delegates and their guests are welcome to this reception. Wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 13
Excursion: Polynesian Cultural Center(http://www.polynesia.com)

A full-day excursion to Hawaii's famous Polynesian Cultural Center, where you can experience the lifestyles, entertainment and hospitality of seven Pacific island cultures. Bring your camera and comfortable walking shoes.
If your guest would like to accompany you, a guest registration must be purchased. The $175 guest fee also includes the luau banquet on Thursday evening.
Ticket Exchange
EXCHANGE VOUCHER BY 3:00PM TUESDAY
Look in your registration packet for a voucher for the Polynesian Cultural Center excursion. You must exchange your VOUCHER for an Excursion TICKET. Take this voucher to the Ticket Exchange Desk for your ticket to the Center. You must obtain your ticket by 3:00pm on Tuesday, July 12 in order to get on the bus. |
Schedule
- 9:30am: Buses depart from the Tapa Bus & Tour Transportation area located outside the Tapa Tower, Hilton. Buses will stop briefly at the Pali Lookout on route to the Center.
- 11:30am: Buses arrive at the Center
- 12:00pm: Lunch, consisting of a salad bar, sandwich bar, entrees (choice of chicken, fettuccine or meatballs) and dessert will be provided at the Center. You can also visit shops and boutiques featuring Polynesian jewelry, apparel, art and souvenirs.
- 12:30pm IMAX show.
- 1:30pm IMAX show repeated.
- 1:30pm: Shuttle buses will begin return trips to the Hilton, for those who would like to return early.
- 2:30pm: Pageant of the Canoe Show.
- 3:00pm: Buses depart and return to the Hilton via the famous North Shore of Oahu.
- 4:30pm: Approximate return time to Hilton Hawaiian Village
THURSDAY, JULY 14
Closing Banquet - Luau
7:00pm-10:00pm
Lagoon Green, Hilton Hawaiian Village
Your badge is your ticket for admission. Be sure to wear your badge to the luau!
Your meeting registration fee covers admission to this reception. If your guest would like to accompany you, a guest registration must be purchased. The $175 guest fee also includes the Wednesday excursion to the Polynesian Cultural Center.
The closing banquet on Thursday evening will feature an authentic Hawaiian luau held under the stars right along the ocean. Wine will be served with the meal. A cash bar will be available for purchase of other beverages.
Following tradition, the luau will be served family-style with each table laden with colorful platters and bowls of Hawaiian delicacies such as poi, lomi lomi salmon and pineapple. Entrée dishes include Kalua pig, island spicy chicken, sautéed mahi mahi with macadamia nuts, and petite teriyaki steak. For dessert, you can select from Haupia (coconut pudding), banana bread, and fresh coconut cake. The islands’ famous Kona coffee will be served.
During the evening, you will be serenaded by a trio of Hawaiian musicians and delighted by a performance of Na Keiki o Halau Hula Olana, the children's performing group of the School of Living Hula. These performers, ages six to thirteen, have been charming audiences in Hawaii for more than two decades. Awards, including the IFORS Prize for O.R. in Development, will be presented during the banquet.
GUEST INFORMATION
The guest fee of $175 includes Sunday Welcome Reception, Wednesday excursion to the Polynesian Cultural Center, and the Thursday evening closing banquet luau. The guest fee does not include attendance at any technical sessions.
