INFORMS 1996 Marketing Science ConferenceMarch 7-10, 1996The ConferenceThe University of Florida will host the 1996 Marketing Science Conference at the Reitz Union in Gainesville, Florida. We place a special emphasis on problem-oriented research and sessions with participation of practitioners. We plan an interesting mix of papers in many areas of marketing science including marketing models, methods, theory, and measurement. With the high quality presentations at past conferences, we expect an intensive and stimulating atmosphere providing the most recent advances in marketing science. We strong encourage Ph.D. students to attend by offering special rates.AbstractsAbstracts should be 200-450 words long. Abstracts should include KEY WORDS to assist in the assignment of abstracts to sessions. Your abstract should clearly define the marketing problem and outline the proposed contribution. Although there are no published proceedings, we will circulate a book of abstracts. We must receive your abstract by mail or FAX before November 17, 1995. You may use e-mail to meet the deadline, but please also submit a hard0copy. In addition, you must also submit the abstract on a 3.5" disk (in WordPerfect format). Each abstract MUST have the title of the presentation, the name of the primary presenter, also, the authors' names, affiliations and addresses. Finally, the abstract should include a telephone number, a FAX number and (if possible) an e-mail address where the primary presenter can be contacted. We strong discourage multiple presentations by the same individual and may reject abstracts based on that criterion. If the abstract fail to identify a presenter, we assume the first listed author will present the paper. Special SessionsWe welcome proposals for special sessions at the conference. We particularly encourage sessions with at least one industry participant, either making a presentation or serving as a discussant. Special sessions must include a proposed title, a session chairperson or persons, abstracts for four papers and a statement summarizing the theme of the session. If we are unable to accommodate the session, we will consider each abstract as an individual submission. Proposals for special sessions have the same deadline. However, we will make early decision on proposals submitted before November 17, 1995.Address for SubmissionsProfessor Steven M. Shugan or Professor Barton A.
