THE CONFERENCE
INSEAD will host the 1998 Marketing Science Conference on its campus
in Fontainebleau, France. The theme of the conference is
Marketing Science in a Global Economy. While papers in all
areas of marketing science are welcome, we are especially interested
in research involving marketing science applied to international
issues and problems. We are particularly interested in sessions
combining academics and practitioners.
ABSTRACTS
Individuals from industry, government, and academia are invited to
submit abstracts. Abstracts should be 150 words minimum and no more
than 250 words including key words to assist in the assignment of
abstracts to sessions. The abstracts should clearly define the
marketing problem and the contribution of the work. A book of
abstracts will be provided with the registration fee.
Abstracts must be received by November 17, 1997. They can be sent by
e-mail to meet the deadline, but please also submit a hard copy and a
copy in Microsoft Word format. Each abstract must have the title of
the presentation, the name of the primary presenter, the authors'
names, affiliations, and addresses. In addition, the abstract should
include telephone and fax numbers, as well as an e-mail address or WEB
page URL where the primary presenter can be contacted.
CONFERENCE SPECIFICS
The conference will be hosted by INSEAD from Friday evening, July 10
through Monday, July 13. There will be a reception Friday evening,
full-day sessions Saturday and Sunday, and a half-day session on
Monday. Fee includes a reception Friday evening, lunches on Saturday
and Sunday, and dinner on Saturday evening which will be held at the
Ch&agrav;teau des Cond.

ACCOMMODATIONS
We have reserved rooms in several hotels located within a 30 minute
drive from INSEAD. Because of the World Football Cup being held in
the Paris area during this period, it will be extremely difficult to
make last minute reservations. We, therefore, request that you make
reservations through INSEAD as early as possible and definitely before
December 15, 1997 (Please use this Accommodation Booking Form).
TRANSPORTATIONS SUGGESTIONS
The INSEAD campus and the hotels where reservations have been made is
located approximately 45 minutes from Paris by car or train (train
fare from Paris is about US $20), 30 minutes by car from Orly airport
and 45 minutes by car from the De Gaulle airport. Taxi fares from the
Airport are about US $150 so that you may want to share cabs. If you
decide to rent a car, please make the arrange-ments directly with your
travel agent or car rental company. Parking is free at the conference
hotels and on the INSEAD campus.
