Middle/High School/Community College Teachers Workshop in Operations Research
To be held at INFORMS International Meeting Puerto Rico
Monday, July 9, 2007
This is a great opportunity for high school, middle school and community college teachers to learn about Operations Research and to bring the techniques of OR directly into the classroom. The INFORMS Public Affairs Committee has been sponsoring Teachers Workshops for many years at INFORMS meetings, and as a result, countless educators have learned mathematical applications for the real world. Sign-up for the Workshop is only $25, and covers the whole day of activities, including lots of take-away materials as well as some really tasty meals and snacks

Ken Chelst had developed a wonderful series of teachers modules that show how to use Operations Research in the classroom. You can download most of them for free, and he's put many of them together in a really nice book that's very reasonably priced. We've had a lot of success in local high schools teaching this material. You can get more details at: High School Operations Research page
