CAP-Essentials (CAP-E) is the first step in your INFORMS Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) journey. For early-career professionals who want to show they understand more than just technical tools, the exam validates your grasp of the complete analytics process and your ability to meaningfully contribute to business solutions. What is a beta test?

This pilot test is designed to collect data on exam performance to assist with determining the final exam items and passing score.

No pre-approval required. The CAP-E exam is open to anyone who wants to complete the test with the opportunity to earn the certification.

Test takers will not receive a score immediately at the end of the exam. Test results will be issued in mid-May with those that passed the exam earning the CAP-E certification and digital badge.
What do I need to do to participate?

Register for the beta test

Bring your laptop to the room to complete the exam (don’t forget your power cord just in case!)

Bring your official identification matching the name on your registration.

No other materials are allowed during the test.
