How does a virtual conference work?

The virtual 2020 INFORMS Business Analytics Conference will be a series of 14 webinars held May 18–22, 2020. When you register for the conference, you will get an email from Mary Leszczynski via Zoom for each presentation you register for; this email contains the link to the webinar as well as the ability to download a calendar reminder. We recommend adding it to your calendar because if you’re like us, if it isn’t on your schedule there is a good chance you’ll miss it! Just in case, you will receive a reminder email one hour prior to each presentation with the link.

What if I can’t make the webinar?

No problem, the presentation will be available on the speaker pages later that day. You will need to be present for the Q&A, but you are welcome to ask the speakers questions on the virtual networking platform, INFORMS Connect. You can log in to INFORMS Connect using the same username and password that you used to register for the conference.

Will the slides be available?

Yes. The slide decks will be available in the library of the group on INFORMS Connect. You must be registered for the conference and logged in to Connect to view the slides.

You keep mentioning INFORMS Connect, what the heck is that?

INFORMS Connect is our member platform for virtual networking. All INFORMS members have access to this resource, as well as attendees of the virtual Analytics Conference. You can send messages to your fellow attendees, pose a challenging analytics problem to the discussion board, and comment on other posts. Take a minute to upload your profile picture and then answer the Introduction thread. We can’t wait to meet you.

How much is this virtual conference?

Absolutely free. Ordinarily, the registration fees for this highly-rated analytics conference are $1,175 for INFORMS members and $1,470 for nonmembers, and we encourage you to give us a test run from your new virtual office.

Can I register after the conference begins?

Sure, we will turn registration off for each session 1 hour and 10 minutes prior to the start of the webinar. If you miss the registration cut-off, you can watch the recorded presentation later that day.
