In this role, Max is responsible for providing analytics solutions through traditional statistics and machine learning to direct strategic business decisions. His team delivers both scalable custom reporting solutions and predictive models to the HEAT and other ticketed venues in the sports and entertainment industry. Just like any mature business, teams must leverage data to gather insights and respond to behaviors in the market. This presentation will provide an overview of how descriptive and predictive analytics are used in the sports and entertainment industry, demonstrated by various case studies on applications pioneered by the Miami HEAT. Based on this success, the HEAT created 601 Analytics to provide these applications to multiple sports teams and venues around the country.
