He has been involved in several consultancy projects and studies applying modeling and optimization to industrial problems. Findings and results from his work can be found in peer-reviewed research journals, book volumes, and conference proceedings. Brought on by the push for an energy transition and a string of global crises, these challenges call for increased integration within the business value chain and a prevention of value leakage. This paper describes an optimisation approach for planning and scheduling across the LNG value chain spanning the entire spectrum of upstream production, midstream liquefaction, and downstream distribution of a vertically integrated company. We apply advanced analytics centring around mixed-integer linear programming supported with state-of-the-art database and cloud computing technologies to realize significant value through automation and digitalization.
