Making the case for agriculture
There’s no question that data analytics and digital innovation are revolutionizing agriculture – driving such advancements as autonomous tractors and drones that monitor crop conditions. Even the seed that farmers plant is developed with the help of data analytics – and might very well represent the most complex input on a farm, given the vast number of genetic combinations possible during the seed development process.
While agriculture is certainly relevant to those of us who eat food and wear clothes, I’ve found that the Ag industry isn’t always perceived as ground-breaking or cutting-edge. But I’m here to say that it is, and I’m thrilled that Agriculture is among the emerging topics represented at this year’s Annual Meeting.
If you are looking to pursue a career in a field where your contributions will matter, or if you are simply curious about the tremendous ways in which data analytics and digital innovation are dynamically changing an ancient practice, I personally invite you to attend the Agriculture cluster.
