Selling the Foundation: How to Build Analytics Maturity When Everyone Expects GenAI to Solve World Peace

The hardest part of analytics transformation isn’t the technical work—it’s convincing stakeholders to invest in data foundations when they want GenAI magic today. Drawing from 15+ years leading analytics transformations that scaled from supporting 350 to 4000+ stakeholders, this session presents a battle-tested framework for building analytics maturity through three sequential phases: Year 1 (Data), Year 2 (Analytics), Year 3 (Predictive). You’ll learn how to assess organizational readiness, paint a vision compelling enough to secure buy-in for foundational work, and navigate common pitfalls like insufficient data literacy and premature AI attempts. Real examples include productionalizing ML models that automated 6000+ hours of work, launching an LLM-powered partner matching engine generating $650M ARR, and building frameworks any team can adopt—all achieved by earning trust through influence, not authority.
