Bio

Genetha Gray is a senior manager in firm analytics at Edward Jones. Prior to that, she managed a data science group at Salesforce that focused on using strategic planning to enhance the employee experience through data. Genetha and her team studied team dispersion, employee benefits and well-being, skills-based learning & development, and pay equity. Her career also includes time as an analytics research scientist at Intel Corporation where she worked on engineering applications related to fully autonomous vehicles and people analytics applications, including modeling the changing representation of women in the tech workforce. She began her career as a member of the technical staff at Sandia National Labs, where she worked on problems in the areas of the electrical and mechanical engineering of systems, the storage of nuclear waste, groundwater remediation, cybersecurity, and energy, including renewables integration and grid operations. She has a Ph.D. in computational and applied mathematics from Rice University and is the co-author of numerous research publications including a textbook on environmental modeling.


Building Effective Teams in a Distributed Working Environment

This talk will cover how to use analytics to combine quantitative and qualitative data related to team dynamics to allow employers to effectively build teams that can succeed in distributed working environments.
