Governing Trustworthy AI in the Wild West of AI

In today’s wild west era of AI, it is very difficult to govern how employees choose and use AI technologies to accelerate their own work. In large corporations, with the span of different locations, countries, and continents, this can feel nearly impossible. Through the efforts of many contributors since late 2022, we’ve learned quite a bit about AI governance, trustworthy AI, and how we might accelerate our journey, if we had to do it again. We’ll walk through the journey of getting started, the why, the what, and the how. With the what, the why, and the how defined, the most difficult part of the process comes into focus, behavioral change management. We’ve identified several areas that can help make this process less painful and allow for AI governance to be an enabler of AI and not a roadblock. With quality AI governance, you may be able to leverage all your organization’s top talent, accelerate the use of AI, provide proper guardrails, and do it in a responsible and trustworthy way that can create a true competitive advantage.
