Industry Track
Track coordinators: Saurabh Parakh (MOSIMTEC), Amy Greer (MOSIMTEC)
There is lesson learned from every simulation project. Each model is rooted in a real operational challenge, shaped by real stakeholders, imperfect data, shifting objectives, and decisions that seldom proceed exactly as expected. The WSC Industry Track encourages practitioners to place these stories at the center, illustrating how simulation is genuinely applied to address real-world problems.
This track provides a multidisciplinary forum for commercial and applied simulation professionals to exchange practical insights into modeling, analyzing, and improving complex systems. We particularly welcome contributions that look beyond final outcomes to reflect the realities and lessons of implementing simulation in practice, including but not limited to:
- How real-world problems and evolving objectives are structured
- Best practice in stakeholders’ engagement and how to develop credibility
- How to deal with imperfect data and organizational constraints
- Challenges in real-world implementation
- Lesson learned from project successes and failures
Applications are welcome from all industry sectors, including but not limited to:
- Climate Resilience (conference theme)
- Manufacturing, Mining
- Logistics, Supply chain and Distribution
- Healthcare, Social and Human Behavior systems
- Food and Other Services
- Military and Defense
- Non-profit organizations
- Data analytics, Digital transformation, Implementing Standards
Submission Format and Guidelines:
The Industry Track is designed for busy professionals who are doing important applied work but may not have the time or resources to prepare a full conference paper. All you need to submit in advance is a 2-page extended abstract. No full paper is required. Submission Deadline and Key Date:
Please refer to the extended abstract submission deadline in the Call for Papers page.
Presentation Format:
This track will comprise of 25-minute presentations, followed by 5 minutes for questions and answers. Presentations should focus on a specific problem where simulation was used to conduct an analysis and provide recommendations of potential solutions.
