The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Florida is a leader in delivering cutting-edge education and pioneering research across diverse areas. The department’s research spans from theoretical and methodological development in advanced manufacturing, data analytics, human performance, operations research, and smart production and logistics systems to applied research in energy systems, healthcare systems, human systems design, and production and supply chains across various industries.
Ranked 13th among graduate programs offered by public universities in industrial and systems engineering by the 2024 U.S. News & World Report, the department has over 600 students enrolled across its Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. These degrees can be pursued through traditional on-campus programs or online via the UF EDGE program. Additionally, working professionals can obtain an M.S. or M.E. degree through UF EDGE or the Outreach Engineering Management program.
