Over the past decades the variety, velocity, and volume of data has been exploding for organizations. Unfortunately, being able to trust and rely on that data to make decisions continues to be in much shorter supply. This presentation will focus on how the key to data as a strategic asset for organization starts with a centralized data program. The methods of data modeling have a robust history, but the technology has rapidly changed the ability of data teams to flexibly meet business needs.
During the presentation, the audience will learn the full life cycle of transforming raw data into the materials of analytics. Topics will include how to build a data system that can evolve over time, minimize technical debt, and be easily documented. SaaS solutions for data storage, movement and transformation have fundamentally changed the game. This session will distinguish between similar concepts like a Data Warehouse, Data Lake and Lake House. The audience will also learn about different technology options for moving and transforming data. Everything we cover will be in support of allowing organizations to succeed in their business goals.
