What Drives Value in the Value Chain?
Traditionally, the focus of supply chain management was cost reduction. This discussion centers on the shift from a focus on cost reduction to the maximization of value. Using statistical regression, Lora Cecere worked with Georgia Tech to analyze the balance sheet and P&L patterns for the 2000-2022 for over 600 companies. Using statistical methods the team derived what metrics, used as a balanced scorecard, improve value. The goal is to move supply chain thinking from a functional metric mindset focused on cost to a balanced scorecard management process to improve value.
