The Poster Sessions offers a timely venue to present and discuss new modeling and simulation research through a forum encouraging graphical presentation, demonstration, and active engagement among Winter Simulation Conference participants.
The Poster Sessions are planned for Sunday, December 3, 2017, in the mid-afternoon and early evening and on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 5:30pm-6:30pm before the General Reception. Poster sessions will include a poster madness session, followed by a display of the posters. The Poster Madness Session and Ph.D. Colloquium both run on Sunday December 3, so participation in both is not possible. Poster Boards will be relocated from the foyer space to the Exhibit Hall for Tuesday and Wednesday for additional visibility and discussion.
We are seeking outstanding submissions that will be presented in a poster format at the conference.
For more information on the topics that we’re seeking, click here.
Poster presenters will submit an abstract and a 2-page extended abstract describing their work for consideration via the WSC submission site. Templates and instructions for authors for the extended abstracts are available in the WSC Author Kit. Additional information regarding the presentation format will be sent to accepted presenters after the decisions are made. Extended abstracts are used for designing the tracks, but are not peer reviewed parts of the proceedings and are not archived in IEEE Xplore.
Important Dates
September 1, 2017: electronically submit 2-page extended abstracts for presentations in the Poster Session and Ph.D. Student Colloquium.
September 15, 2017: Notification of acceptance to authors (including details about submitting slides, and formats of the posters).
October 6, 2017: Final extended abstracts due.
November 17, 2017: Slides for the presentation due (see guidelines in the track information)
December 3, 2017: Bring your A0 sized poster to WSC 2017.
Poster preparation guidelines
Please bring a standard A0 size poster (841 x 1189 mm or 33.1 x 46.8 mm), or sheets which can be assembled to be that size or smaller. We will be displaying four posters per poster board (2 per side). Your poster should cover the main points of your work and be as self-explanatory as possible. The posters will be available in the exhibition hall for the duration of the conference, in order to allow the presenters to discuss their work.
Poster Madness slide preparation guidelines
Each presenter will have a maximum of 2 minutes and up to 4 slides (including a title slide) to present their work. Please prepare a maximum of four slides in .pdf format (Power point slides should be printed to .pdf.). Other file formats will not be accepted – these files will be appended into one long .pdf file for smooth transitions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
