The Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NC State ranks among the nation’s top 15 programs (U.S. News & World Report). The department’s diverse research spans advanced and biomedical manufacturing, health systems, human factors, supply chain and logistics, and systems analytics. ISE also supports the Operations Research, Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and Master of Engineering Management programs. With strong partnerships across universities, medical schools, and industry, ISE hosts two state-funded centers—the Ergonomics Center of North Carolina and the Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics—and the privately funded Bezos Center for Sustainable Protein.
