The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering pairs basic research with applied work on real operational problems, from optimization models that redraw paratransit service zones to route-planning tools for electric garbage trucks. Faculty and students also develop advanced composites and materials and work in healthcare engineering, often in partnership with nearby centers such as the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory and the High-Performance Materials Institute.
