Established in 1947, UT’s Industrial and Systems Engineering department offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctoral degrees in Industrial & Systems Engineering. A Master of Science degree and a Doctoral degree with a concentration in Engineering Management are available through the distance education provided by the department.
Our faculty is internationally recognized for excellence in research and teaching, and our advanced research is enhanced by close ties with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Y-12 Nuclear Security Complex. The Department actively interacts with many on-campus centers, including the Reliability and Maintainability Center, the Center for Transportation Research, the state’s Institute for Public Service, the Institute for a Secure and Sustainable Environment, and many others.
