AnyLogic 9 Technology Preview – a Free Online Model Development Environment
Presented by: Andrei
Borshchev

In this workshop, we will start with an overview of the AnyLogic ecosystem for simulation – a software suite that supports the full cycle from model development to deployment to operational use of simulations. We will then introduce AnyLogic 9 Technology Preview: a free version of our cloud-based development environment for simulation models. You will get a good doze of AnyLogic 9 user experience: we will build a model, deploy it in AnyLogic Cloud, perform experiments and show you how to work with the new AnyLogic simulation results management tools – all that in the browser, nothing needs to be installed. We will also showcase how this new technology radically simplifies distributed model development and enables instant model delivery to end users. Join us to stay current with the most advanced, innovative, and widely used simulation technology in the world!

Climbing Out of the Data Dump: Using Business Intelligence Tools for Visualizing and Analyzing Rockwell Automation’s Arena Simulation Data
Presented by: Melanie Barker

The primary objective of any discrete event simulation project is to generate meaningful output that informs decision-making. However, interpreting this data effectively often requires visual representations to enhance understanding. In this workshop, we will demonstrate how to harness the features of Power BI to connect to an Arena simulation report database, enabling you to visualize and analyze your simulation results more effectively.

We’ll begin by guiding you through the process of replicating the standard Excel-based statistical output report in Power BI and importing custom log files generated by the example model. From there, we’ll explore a range of basic visualization options to help you better interpret and present your simulation outcomes.

Using Simulation to Analyze the Business Impact and Value of DDMRP
Presented by: Chad Smith

Chad Smith, co-founder of The Demand Driven Institute who is the global authority on Demand Driven methodology, education, training, certification, and compliance with support from Simio will conduct a detailed workshop to illustrate the impact and value of DDMRP to optimize flow in manufacturing-based supply chains.

Recognizing that a simulation-based Adaptive Process Digital Twin is an ideal technology to take the time-tested DDMRP methodology to the next level, Simio and the Demand Driven Institute began a collaboration that has led to groundbreaking advancements in managing material flow.

This workshop will go through various examples starting from a very basic level all the way to more advanced applications to explain how bringing DDMRP together with a Simio Adaptive Process Digital Twin has resulted in a new and exciting development in the supply chain industry – and an ideal solution for the design, test, optimization, and execution of a Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning process.

Simio Modeling for New and Prospective Users
Presented by: Jeff Smith

This workshop is aimed at people who know simulation as a methodology but are new to or have never used Simio. Our focus is on introducing the Simio platform by building a simple model from scratch and then using several pre-built models to demonstrate the major features of the platform. Specific topics include using the Standard Library objects, building custom objects, experimentation using Simio’s ranking and selection and optimization tools, using structured data for data-driven/data-generated modeling, and using Simio’s simulation-based scheduling tools for developing scheduling solutions. We will also discuss the licensing options and learning resources available for academic and commercial users.
