Harsh Anand
Harsh Anand is a final-year Ph.D. Fellow in Systems Engineering at the University of Virginia. He focuses on using data science and operations research to improve emergency management, particularly to evaluate the effectiveness of hurricane evacuation orders and enhance community resilience. Harsh holds a master’s degree in data science and analytics from Penn State University and has more than five years of experience in strategic operations and advanced analytics through management consulting roles. He serves on the Editorial Board of INFORMS’ student magazine OR/MS Tomorrow, conducts peer-review for journals and conferences, including Transportation Research Board, and is a three-time winner of the INFORMS Freestyle O.R. Supreme.
Kara Combs
Kara Combs is an associate computer engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratory and Ph.D. student at the Air Force Institute of Technology. She currently serves as the lead editor for the student-led magazine, OR/MS Tomorrow, and has been an INFORMS member since 2021.
