Health & Safety

We look forward to welcoming attendees back to the INFORMS Annual Meeting in Anaheim and navigating the new norms of interacting with each other in a physical space. INFORMS main priority is the health and safety of everyone attending the annual meeting and we are taking great care to make every participant feel safe. We are working closely with the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Marriott Anaheim to ensure that the INFORMS Annual Meeting is adhering to all requirements of California Department of Public Health, the Orange County Health Care Agency and any additional guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. All attendees will be required to abide by our COVID-19 procedures.

Due to recent changes in regulations in California and our continued commitment to minimizing risk for all in-person participants, the 2021 INFORMS Annual Meeting will now be a vaccine-mandated meeting.

What does this mean? In order to attend the Annual Meeting in person, all participants will need to provide proof of vaccination prior to arriving in Anaheim. Information regarding the vaccine validation process will be shared with all registered attendees in the coming weeks. We encourage all participants to wear a mask while in the Convention Center and public areas of the host hotels. We will continue to monitor CDC recommendations as well as state and local regulations related to masking and will make adjustments accordingly.

INFORMS is working with ShareMy.Health, a HIPAA-compliant software system that allows attendees to upload their vaccine card in a protected, secure environment to help ensure the safety and well-being of event guests. In accordance with INFORMS’ COVID-19 policy, you will need to use ShareMy.Health to provide proof of vaccination showing the final dose received on or before October 9. In-person attendees will receive emailed instructions for accessing this service.

The Anaheim Convention Center has received GBAC Star accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council, a division of ISSA Inc., the leading association for the cleaning industry. Accreditation is awarded to facilities that follow a high standard of cleaning, disinfection and disease prevention and that follow proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols and workplace practices. The Anaheim Convention Center is the first exhibition facility on the West Coast to be accredited.

We will update this page as more information becomes available to keep you informed of ongoing health and safety measures. From innovative seating arrangements to pre-packaged food, please know we appreciate your commitment in resources, time and risk and will be working hard to reimagine the meeting so that everyone is comfortable in this new reality.
