The department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) is one of the five departments in the joint College of Engineering between Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Florida State University (FSU). The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is the unique combination of two outstanding universities with overlapping but distinct missions – the Nation’s top Historically Black College/University (HBCU) and a Top 20 Public, Tier-1 Research University. As such we provide outstanding research and entrepreneurship-based education to one of the most diverse student populations in the US. The department has 19 faculty with a broad range of portfolio in data science and analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, operations research, applied statistics and quality engineering, infrastructure and supply chain resilience, systems engineering, advanced manufacturing, nanomaterials and nanomanufacturing, and smart materials. The department has state-of-the-art facilities and are highly productive with annual research expenditure over $3 million.
