Rutgers University’s School of Engineering is home to educational opportunity and innovation with an engineering community that includes dynamic faculty conducting leading-edge research and engaged and motivated students from diverse backgrounds and interests. Established in 1864, the school includes seven academic departments representing key engineering disciplines and nationally recognized research centers and awards undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) has teaching and research strengths in areas including data science, quality and reliability, optimization, and manufacturing. Keeping up with growing concerns related to global warming and advances in machine learning, ISE has extended its focus to include energy systems and AI. The department is home to state-of-the-art laboratories in robotics and automation, manufacturing, reliability, energy, and human-machine systems.
